File Issue - simple cut and paste My pictures are constantly changing sizesProblems With Gimp

Wile using Gimp for simple cut and paste My pictures are constantly changing sizes. When the pictures are made zoomed I don't get the full image. When Images are small I have Huge border issues. I don't understand why. Also some times I simply cant drag and drop a pic. Well I can but it removes the pic behind it. So I make no progress. Wow.
