validating textbox data with sqlUpdating Values In A Text Box

I am developing a windows based project in VB.Net 2008 with sql server 2005.Pressing save button I want to validate my textbox entry from sql database, if any of the textboxes data is there in database field , I should get message "Data Already exist"pls can anyone provide me with the way of doing this
