Difference between UHF and SHFFrequency Types

In terms of short distance communication, there is a shift from UHF to SHF, for example in engineering studies, UHF communication modules are less favoured compared to bluetooth. My question is in terms of noise/distortion/inteference, which is better UHF or SHF. Please provide any reference, if possible.
