situation:

I built a site in Flash, that uses an array to load various external images (png.,swf., flv., etc.) Locally, everything loaded quickly enough, that I didn't think I would need a preloader.  After uploading to a server, things got a lot slower. 

question: 

What is the easiest way to "apply" a preloader to my swf. Site, so that everytime something externally loads, a preloader will pop up and show progress? 

I'm new to flash, especially scripting, so that question might sound ridiculous.  please help.
