how come when i plug my ipod in it doesnt show on itunesWindows Not Recognizing Ipod

When I plug in my Ipod Chromatic, nothing happens. It doesn't even show in My Computer as the F file. The Ipod also doesn't charge. But when I plug in my Ipod Nano, it shows and it shows on itunes and it said "Do not disconnect" on the ipod screen. And when I plug my chromatic to another computer, nothing happens eithier. But when I plug my Chromatic into my Radio Stereo, the ipod charges and it works perfectly fine. Please help.
