Tablets?Purchasing A Graphics Tablet

what about Vis Tablet?  It looked like you could see what you were drawing on the tablet according to sales images.

I am also desperately looking for a graphics tablet, I am in college, and I need one to do better with my designing.  Vis Tablet sold a nice one for 900.00.  They quit making them for a newer version.  

I wanted to get the $900 tablet because it was on screen drawing, but if a regular tablet can do just the same, than I would like to save my money...Please help
