My Baby's Tooth Darkening anybody can help me in this?

Recommended Posts

When my year old son had his teeth, it had been darkening like rust on one of his tooth in front that its iron supplement causes.. I know that there is nothing to worry about because it would just come out soon.. But i couldnt wait for 6 years for it to be replace.. I dont want my son looking like a candy cracking toddler.. Ive been looking around the net and only found the baking soda solution but i already made it a habit on him for about a month but nothing has change ever since.. It even made him threw up his milk..I havn't went to the pedia-dentist yet since it is too expensive.. hehehe.. anyway, if there are anyone with the same problem or idea in this matter, help me.. ^_^;) nice healthy white teeth is a must!

I had a dead tooth when I was a kid, one of my front teeth, and there was nothing that the dentist could do to make it white again. It's considered to be a dead tooth. The only thing you can really do now is make sure it doesn't get infected with anything. If the tooth is not completely gray, there is a possibility that it could be a cavity. Over the past couple months I've noticed one of my front teeth darkening from the back and when I went to the dentist last week he was able to drill and fill the cavity. They're no longer gray.

Good luck with your son,

Hi dewslat,

I am dental student myself,
This is not a problem to worry much as the tooth is not infected(main sign will be pain when it happens)
But I will advice you to take him to dental surgeon (pedo specialist not needed) as the tooth requires pulpectomy(root canal treatment) as it may lead to deformation in growth and eruption of permanent tooth below it.
I hope you were in India - treatments here cost equal to One meal (we do Root canal treatments for 10$ max )
