Belkin's New N1 Vision Wireless Router

Belkin recently launched the N1 Vision ($199) which offers a built-in display for broadband network speed, upload & download speed, individual computer bandwidth usage, connected devices, total data usage over a 24 hour period, devices accessing the network as guests, and a general clock / date.

This is very cool....The seemingly "novelty" screen actually serves an important purpose: It lets you diagnose connectivity issues quickly and allows you to see who is on you network at any time. The 1600 feet access radius is pretty cool as well....that is nearly half a kilometer or one third of a mile.

Last I checked, the N standard hasn't exactly been finalized. Personally I wait until it has and avoid the "preN" or "Draft-N" devices just like I did with the G-standard before it was finialized.

If so, what is the latest standard for wireless technology....and while i'm asking, what is a recommendation for an internet connection of 128kbps? I have a wireless G router/card is that good enough? Edited August 20, 2007 by mist (see edit history)

Whoa, that is just about the coolest wifi router I've seen! If I had the money I'd defiantly buy that, but my current router is doing just fine. I think it's more about the looks than the actual specs. I would love to have that sitting on my desk
