Beginning Web Designer Templates & Logos As a beginner web designer you probably dont know how to make tem

Recommended Posts

When I started website designing, I had no idea how to make templates or logos. So, I needed to find some free and inexpensive templates and logos.

While I was searching I located a lot of sites. I would like to share them with all the beginning website designers out there. If anybody has anything to add to this, please do!

Free Templates:

1) https://freewebsitetemplates.com/
2) http://www.oswd.org/
3) http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
4) http://clantemplates.com/

Free Logos:

1) http://www.bestcompanylogo.com/freelogos.php (this site also has custom logos but for a price)

Inexpensive Templates:

1) http://www.4templates.com/

Hope that helps some beginner web designers out there! B)

freewebsitetemplates.com and oswd.com does have a great collection of free web template,

but be carefull for the license, sometimes the designer/owner want you to put a link or credit int the template for exchange with the free template, and you have to honored the designer..

For logos and buttons, I find CoolText a very useful tool.

CoolText is a free online graphic generator, which you can use to easily custom-make logos and different with a myriad of nice effects, .e.g. embossing, glowing, 3D outlining, blending, beveling, carving, etc.

OK if your starting out at web design and you want to use a template I suggest you have a look at the coding and try to work out what does what. First look at the HTML then work out what styles are been used to make it look the way it is (css). Then try editing the css styles and see what effect it has on the site.Once you start getting the hang of things you will start to see how things are structured and after time it will come to you. Know one has ever taught me how do code but from looking at other peoples and getting an understanding I can now open notepad and write valid CSS & HTML with no problems, obviously when it come to browser compatibility there is always some tweaks to make. Never write a whole page then test it in various browsers, test it as you go along.
