Markymark2 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2006 Hey guys,For those of you that like Indie Music maybe you would like to hear my latest Indie Mix.I Used to be a professional dance music DJ but I have always loved Indie music..over the last few years there's been a lot of really talented bands coming through and I really like the new style of indie mixed with the older stuff.I actually try to mix properly with tunes of the same key and tempo alongside each other-something quite rare in Indie mixing..I guess I'm using the experience of years of mixing dance music to a new style!Give it a listen-you shouldn't be disappointedHere's the track list...1. Fingers in the Factories - Editors2. Mr Brightside - The Killers3. Crazy In Love - Snow Patrol4. Cigarettes & Alcohol - Oasis5. All These Things That I've Done - The Killers6. austiniskoge 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 Hey dude, sounds cool... but some problems. First, the legal side of this is iffy at best. Second, I hope you don't think bands like the Killers, Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party are still considered indie. They've both had their breaks. Kaiser Chiefs- that's a good one. Also, I pretty sure what you listed as "Eating Glass" is actually "Like Eating Glass". Plus, Oasis and Franz are pushing it on the "indie" tag. I think this is more appropriately named "Alternative and Indie Mixtape". I'm not being a spoilsport, it's just that the term "indie" gets thrown around so much. I like to keep it to the roots. Other than that, this is a really cool idea. Keep up the good work!
Markymark2 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 (edited) Sure I understand what your saying about some of the artists but this mix was made to be played in a club that plays Indie/Alternative tunes..it was made to be a dancefloor filler with lots of tunes on people would recognise instantly such as Take Me Out or Mr Brightside..It did the job..I got the gig now I play regular there the owner compliments me by saying that I actually mix not fade! unlike most of the Djs hes had there.
