miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2006 This came to me by mail today. Once again - this is a bit contextual and quite a bit of the joke would be lost upon the rest of the world if I don't add in a minor explanation.. The Singh surname bearing Indians are usually the turbaned variety you'll find in almost any part of the world. Back home they're known as the Sikhs, i.e. they follow the religion Sikhism (click for more info on Sikhism). Anyway - because of their tightly wrapped heads, it's believed that a good part of their brain fails to grow due to lack of enough breathing room Errrr.. No offense to the Sikhs.. but this is a widely known & accepted joke back home, even among the Sikhs.. Another one making rounds is that 12 o'clock midnight sharp, their brains revolt on them and shut down Anyways .. here's over to Mr. Banta Singh, who probably sat down to write this sometime after midnight ====================================================== Banta singh to bill gates Dear Mr. Bill Gates, This letter is from Banta Singh from Punjab. We have bought a computer for our home and we found problems, which I want to bring to your notice. After connecting to internet we planned to open e-mail account andwhenever we fill the form in Hotmail in the password column, only ****** appears, but in the rest of the fields whatever we typed appears, but we face this problem only in password field. We checked with hardware vendor Santa Singh and he said that there is no problem in keyboard. Because of this we open the e-mail account with password *****. I request you to check this as we ourselves do not know what the password is. We are unable to enter anything after we click the 'shut down 'button. There is a button 'start' but there is no "stop" button. We requestyou to check this. We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friend clicked 'run 'has ran upto Amritsar! So, we request you to change that to "sit", so that we can click that by sitting. One doubt is that any 're-scooter' available in system? As I findonly 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home. There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lostthe door key and we tried a lot for tracing the key with this ' find', but unable to trace. Is it a bug?? Every night I am not sleeping as i have to protect my 'mouse' fromCAT, So i suggest u to provide one DOG to kill that cat. My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoftsentence', so when u will provide that? Best regards, Banta singh

Not really... the names Banta and Santa originated amongst the Sikhs themselves... infact almost all their jokes revolve around these two characters

lonebyrd 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 That is the kind of email that I like to get! I'm used to the 'rednecks' and computer jokes, so that was a good change. I know it's not nice to make fun of people, but alot of times it is the people that are talked about in the jokes themselves, who make up such jokes. Like Jeff Foxworthy, if anyone has heard of him, he's one funny 'redneck'.
