Sarah81 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 Case mods? Hmm ... does slapping stickers on my notebook's lid count? *grins*Seriously, that's a nice case. I wouldn't pay to have that sort of thing done (and don't even ask if I could/would do it myself, because that's just not happening, hehe), but it's still nice to look at. But I *do* have a modded microwave courtesy of my artistically-inclined younger brother. This was an old-old-old castoff microwave that we found for me when I moved into my own apt. last semester (the thing still works, so no complaints). So I re-painted it and asked my brother if he could do anything to make it look, you know, cool.Sorry that my camera sucks so much, but you can get the basic idea - he used a silver Sharpie and free-hand drew the flames all over the front. Jeigh1405241495 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 Hm... well I had an old Dell gx-1 case that I needed to fit some non-dell parts into to make it work as a server... and since dell cases (at least the old ones) don't like non-proprietary parts being in them I had to 'mod' the case a bit... I wouldn't say it looks good now though haha. Basically it looks like someone attacked it with a hammer... probably because I did indeed attack it with a hammer (and a dremel... mostly a hammer...)I was considering getting a nice plain case for my personal comp and modding it up a bit, adding some custom windows and doing a painjob on it, but I lack money for the needed materials and equipment. Ooooooooh someday haha./ Until then I'll stick to my plain black case and my raped Dell gx-1 "server" case haha.
Killer008r 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2006 If you want to mod a case, first you need a case, best place to look is either Pricewatch, or Ebay. When you get the case (Make sure it was a cheap case don't make it too expensive since if you scrue up, and break somthing there goes almost the entire project). Next make a design, draw it out, make a list of the parts/equipment you will need. Get styrofoam to make the modifications then when you have what you want out of the foam, you get clay that drys then just make it into the form that you want the part to look like, make sure it dosn't crack when it drys. For more reference go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/http://www.7volts.com/casemods.htm https://m''>https://m'>http://www.7volts.com/casemods.htm https://mOr for some modding pictures and Ideas go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ https://p''>https://p'>http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ https://pI have 2 cases on there ^ I'll share them on here later
wutske 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 Well, i've removed the fangrills that were on my AopenH600b. Funny thing to know, I didn't have a dremmel when I did it, so I had to cut the 4 grills using some metalscissors , very painfull job (and that for a case that hase no casefans anymore )

SileZigns 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Wow!! those look sweet, I started to mod the outside of my laptop. It wasn't going very fast so I've put it on hold until I get abit more money. At the moment it just has a basic dragon decally thing on the lid, but it's not that great. I've done a few other various alterations, I'll post a picture as soon as my digital camera starts to work properly.
