The Lord of the RingsThe Fellowship of the RingThere was a great, great battle,A long, long time ago,Those who once fought for freedomCannot now let us knowThere were clouds of darknessThere were clouds of shadethey were so cruel and rainyThat every men wished they could fadeSo the great prince heirWith no fear of dyingTook the sword in a minuteAnd saw the Dark Lord fallingBut the prince who once was greatAnd whose father was now dead,Didn?t know it was too late andKept what he never should have hadWhile he was walking through the roadThe Ring glittered in his handWhat the poor prince didn?t knowWas that he was walking to the endSo the river took his bodyFull of blood from others greed. And The Ring, like in all stories,Kept in its silence, indeed. But time passes,And time moans,And time brings secretsOnly Evil owns. And The Ring, all alone,Kept his journey all through;A creature saw that it shoneAnd wanted to have it too.Gollum sneaked,Gollum Hid,Gollum wished whateveryone did.One year passed,Fivehundred flew,The last for him,The first for you. And Gollum playedA Riddles gameWith a clumsy HobbitOf weird name. The Hobbit wonThe shining thing,Inside his pocketHe kept that Ring. And who will doWhat is in need,Now dark awokeFrom heavy sleep?Frodo and Sam are brave, not strongHow will they walk the unsafe path?Is music and a singing songWitch will take them both away from death. They, not alone,With eight or nein,Will hold for longThe weight of time. Now the Ring keeps callingFor the litless eyeThe Ring keeps tentingTelling them: ?Die!?The Wizard tried to do the goodBut his allied broke the chain he built,Now Evil took a stronger mindAnd points the Wizard all the guilt. The Elves can?t helpthey are too few,and Men are weakLike me or you.The dwarves are deepin the mountains cages,Can?t hear a thingThrough the longest ages.So Elrond thoughthe could call them all,to discuss the issuebefore the big fall. And from distant landsAnd from distant seas,Everyone appealedFor the call of his. There the men, they foughtfor the Ring of gold,Everyone just screamed, the most shy or bold.So the smallest hobbitgot up and said:?I?ll take the Ring to Mordor,I?ll take it if I have!?And there, everyone lookedEveryone stared, for the little personright in front of there. The ranger who is kingwithout no one to know, and the Dwarf and the Elf,with the axe and the bow.The Wizard of pointy hatand the false prince from Gondorwanted to go with Frodo,to the Gates of Mordor.Frodo smiled in big joy,he couldn?t see the dark long way,but Merry and Pippin and Samwould be protecting him everyday. So the nine just leftthrough the greener fields, through the hardest roadsand the tallest hills. But the snow of whitedidn?t let them carry onand told them there was another placeaway from that big storm. The Mines were nearif they could dare, without to fearthe ones who live there. The Mines were dark, inside was coldthe voices barkedand the smell was old. The Wizard fearedto enter the Minesbecause there were the mostdangerous things of times. But there was no choice,no choice, no, at all, when small Pippin wokesomething not so small. And the Balrog, angry, pushed the Wizard down, and the little hobbitsstarted screaming around. When the Wizard fellthey began to cry,ran away from the Balrogwho made the Wizard die. They arrived outsidesafe but drowned in tears, this was so much worstthen all their biggest fears. The ranger king told themthey would have to go on,so the hobbits and the otherswalked until it was dawn. The woods became denserwhile further among the trees, little Frodo could hear a voiceand big blue eyes in his mind could see.Galadriel gave them shelter, gave them words, water and bed,for the fair Maiden of the Woodknew the trip had been too sad.In the night, when all seemed sleep,She descended the stairs of stone, drowned the jar into the waterto her mirror Frodo show. And Frodo, he woke up,heard the silence all aroundgot down, either, those grey stairsand there Galadriel found. She made a signShe called his name:?Don?t be afraid, and don?t be shame?? Frodo looked fearfulto the Mirror made of streamsand he saw a wicked futureso different from what he dreams. And the Maiden calmed him down, and told Frodo what he saw:?This is what will succeedif you fail or if you fall.?When the morning came alongand he thought about The Ringhe felt bold and new and strong, and had will to destroy that thing.

Very nice poem. It was fun too because I can picture each thing as it happens in this shortened version of the fellowship. Beautifully done.

Yeah, I like it too, very nicely written poem. If only the Lord of the Rings books were written like this, I could manage to finish all three! How long did it take you to write this poem? Was it hard to write, or did it come easily to you?
