How Does Domain Protection Mechanism Work ?

Recommended Posts

Some time ago i tried to register a domain. DNS system reported it to be free of usage but locked. So there is no site using this name. But it can't be used by anyone else. Just reserved. Domain seller promised to notify me when it will be available. Will it ever be? If so, how much time will it probably take?Or there is some way of getting over this problem?)I think there are many people who would like to know more about domain name locking system. How it works. What should one do to protect a domain. Will this protection be reliable. And so on.Please give us some of your knowledge if you are familiar with this topic. :-)10x, anyway.

I guess that, as soon as a domain name is free, somebody wants to buy it. first of all the domain name is locked. then the buyer have to pay, give his references, etc... Before everything is finished, the domain does not exist yet, but is no more available. And in case of failure in the buying name process, the domain becomes free again, and the lock is removed.
