ah_guan89 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 I think that some web creaters aren't real web masters, they just create and design the web site and upload to internet.I want to know how only a common web designer can approved to be a real web master. Is it need exams and practical web design to approve these? PureHeart 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 No, not at all. A web master do the management of a site. And designers & coders built the website for them. But a web master should know how the site was created. So he can manage it more effectly. In short, a site will never born without designers & coders. But I may die soon without a good webmaster. derouge 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Yeah, PureHeart hit the definitions pretty much right on. I've always found that, for me, its much harder to be a web "master" than a web "designer." To keep a site going you have to be constantly adding fresh content - which is a lot more effort, often, than just designing a site. <shrug>
christnet 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2005 I'm going to extend off the last reply. Webmasters do their job because they have something to give to the world. They want the information, good, or service to be able to spread across to every person in the world. That is why I enjoy being a webmaster. Designers design because it is something they're good at, they enjoy it, they get to use their creativity and thats just awesome. Today's Internet is so competitive in that, every month something new comes out in the programming/designing world, and it's a race to learn everything. Designers thrive on that, webmasters thrive on people knowing who they are and what they're about.God Bless...
chocolatxbliss 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 of course not =] you just have to know what you're doing, give in a lot, and be attached to your site =] webmasters like don't take things off of other people's sites and they enjoy being webmasters simply because they can get their own site and have full control of it. if you want to be a webmaster, go for it. Khymnon 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 Hello, ah_guan .. First of all, I think it's a great thing that you are thinking about this. You're smart enough to know that there's a difference between a Web desinger (or creator) and a Web master. The difference, like all the good folks who replied have already said, is that a Web master can see the big picture. He has to think about what a Website is meant to do and how it can do it, while a Web designer only has to figure out how to make it do it. It's not that one is better than the other, it's just that a Web master has more responsibility. But if I got your question right, I believe you want to know whether you, a beginner Web desinger can be a Web master, am I correct? If that's your question, then the answer is: Yes, of course you can. It's not that hard even, it just takes time. But you have to improve yourself as a Web designer first. You don't have to know everything about design, but you should keep learning until you feel you're starting to think about more than just design. When you start thinking about Search Engine Optimization, about graphic manipulation, about usability issues, and things like these, then congratulations, you are a Web master.
