vdhieu84 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 This is a totally new service brought to you free by Google. It is Google Analytics. https://www.google.com/analytics/ . Personally, I haven't tried this (supposedly) wonderful new tools, but since it's Google and almost everything from Google is good. So I think it's worth to let people know. And it does support AdWords. Look at the picture at the front page, it seems to me a pretty sophisticated software. I anyone used it already, please let me know how it is. Thanks. ruben1405241511 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 I can't make a use of it, since I don't use adwords and I don't have a high viewer number, but they offer you a service to optimise your keywords in your website (for adwords and other progs)?
Jguy101 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Well, I had it on my blog for a couple minutes...but I noticed that for some reason, some text had changed fonts. I removed it from my stylesheet, and it changed back to the particular font...weird.

I removed it from my stylesheet, and it changed back to the particular font...weird. 1064330098[/snapback] Why do you put that code in your stylesheet? You should not do so. As Google says, it is guarantee that the code will not effect your site's appearance. can't make a use of it, since I don't use adwords and I don't have a high viewer number, but they offer you a service to optimise your keywords in your website (for adwords and other progs)?I just look at the website again, and they seem to suffer quite high demand of this service. But they say that they are working on it and you should have your reports available in at most 12 hours. Mine doesn't show up either even though I know that my site has pretty high traffic. Vyoma 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 I tried to sign-up for that service of theirs, even though I do not use Ad-Words (Why would I need that, I do not have anything to sell). Anyway, I thougth I would analyze the traffic to my blogs, but as some one noted above, I was given the following message: Thank you for your interest in Google Analytics!Google Analytics has experienced extremely strong demand, and as a result, we have temporarily limited the number of new signups as we increase capacity. In the meantime, please submit your name and email address and we will notify you as soon as we are ready to add new accounts. Thank you for your patience. So, I gave my name and mail ID and am crossing my fingers. Come to think of it, I am really getting a bit suspicious about Google. I mean, they have been quite successful at pulling a rational being like me to their servieces.

Sarah81 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 I'm not surprised that this Google feature went invitation-only. Google's new features are so heavily advertised and discussed all over the Internet that they can't help but receive millions of new users faster than they can launch yet another brand-new feature. You'd think that they'd be better equipped to deal with the masses of new users by now. Vyoma 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2006 OK. Finally, I got to know from some other forum that they had opened the sign ups and I went and signed up. Oddly, they did not send me the invitation as they said they would when I gave the email ID.Anyway, I got hold of the account and I set it up for my website (an article library) that I have setup here at Xisto. It was pretty simple to set up as they had asked to put few lines of codes before the </body> tag on every page.Putting that on every page would have taken quite some time, but thankfully I use Drupal as CMS. All I had to do was go to the index.php, and hunt for the </body> tag, and just insert the code that Google had given before it.The Google Analytics indicated that it had been successfully installed at my site, and that it was gathering data. This had happened about a couple of days before. Now, I log on to it and I am hit with phletora of reports and all sorts of things. I was pretty much used to the Weblizer at the Xisto cPanel, and could catch few terms here and there. But now I am totally blown away by all the statistics and reports that they can give.Something specific that intriuged me was the Bounce Rates. Something about how visitors stayed at my page or they went out. I understood that much but I could not get whether it was good if the rate was more or it was less. There are quite a couple of things that perplexed me.Are there any more users of Google Analytics around here? I would sure like to discuss a few things on how one uses it.
