Recommended Posts

Hi all,I have now hosting space on Xisto, cus I can't post enough here and my posts are not very contributive, my only problem is that i have a MySQL database here at Xisto and I want it to be on Xisto. Does anyone know how I can put it over?I tried to backup it on Xisto and load it on Xisto, but then my phpbb2 plus forum wanted to redirect to Xisto the whole time, why it should redirect to Xisto ofcourse....Thx in advance.....Moody

Go to the phpMyAdmin in the cPanel and then select your database, the click the export text link and then when prompted tell it to save as file using the predifined defaults. Then go to your other database phpMyAdmin on trap 17 and then either create a new database (preferred) and click the SQL link and then search your local machine for the file you created above and click it. This will create the tables and fill then with the information that you have on your Xisto acount. Pretty simple HUH?

Now, if you get 300 second timeouts or if you never seem to get the data moved properly, try to move smaller bits of the database over several transfers.

If you manage to keep the backup files small enough, you should be able to move the database more easily. You can do this byusing the export option in phpMyAdmin and selecting just a few of the tables to download in the file. Then repete and choose the next few tables. Each time don't forget to change the filename of the downloaded file. Once all of the various backup files are safely saved to your local system, move over to the other server and open the phpMyAdmin program again. This time use the SQL tab to import the files.

This is the only way I know of doing this. If this fails, you'll have to ask OpaQue to try to move the sql file from one account to the other.

Hope this helps. :)

Do this in cPanel

1 . go to BACKUP page

2 . download your database(s) in gzip format

3 . upload it to your new account ( using BACKUP again)

4 . Edit the config files if needed.

5. DONE

Aha, the problem is in your database. You may need to modify a key of forum_config table, change the domain and root path.
