Logan Deathbringer 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 hmmm...I'll see if I can find an answer to your delima but I'd love to know how you managed to do this. I will try to have an answer to you in a day or 2 unless someone else gets you an answer before I can. I don't promise that I can but I will try.
wutske 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 They are situated in the I386 folder, but you can't use them as they are on the disc (even if you rename them). If quickly made a rar file with the files that are needed for defrag (I think those are all the files you need).dfrg.rarFirst check which files are already in the windows\system32 folder, then copy the ones you need. But how did you manage to delete it ? Did u install another defragging program instead or just removed them ?
pomjim 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 But how did you manage to delete it ? Did u install another defragging program instead or just removed them ?I wish I knew!!! I went to defrag, the system couldn't find it, and when I looked in the windows files, it wasn't there. I know I haven't uninstalled it personally, so to be honest it's a mystery to me.I will have a look in the folder you suggest, thanks very much for your help. Reaver 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2005 Now that you have replaced the files for your defrag i would suggst maybe a Windows Repair which cleans your registry and deletes and replaces all the files in your system directory needed just for Windows leaving the other files intact and any 3rd party prgrams you are running which is also usefull to refresh Windows about every 6 months and makes it run smoothly again then i also suggest after that to clear out your restore points by turning it off and then restart and turn it back on again and this will create a new restore point with a clean install and finally since this removal of your defrag is such a mystery to you i suggest scaning your system for virii and spyware.
