Fractals!

Recommended Posts

Sidis posted this link on CWH, so I thought I'd share it with you guys :D

http://www.apophysis.org/index.html

Apophysis is a freeware fractal proggie. For people who don't know, fractals is maths, chaos theory to be exact. It means the same thing which repeats over and over again, smaller each time. Translated into image form, they make very pretty pictures. If you do a google image search of fractals, you'll get thousands of pretty fractals made from people all over the world. Have fun! :P

Since you brought up the subject of Fractals - you guys should give Fractint a try too. This is the first ever Fractal generator that came out - for DOS. It's still very much in development - it's fast and immensely configurable. With minor modification of certain parameters you can generate breathtaking variations of some common fractals. I've had it since 1994 I think. It's amazing what they came up for DOS based systems with such minimal support for graphics - in those days. A MUST TRY !!

Here's the link: https://fractint.org/

Source code is also available at their site.

Fractals are amazing.... a simple equation to the value of infinty can make incredible structures... does anyone know of anything other than fractals which have similar properties. (painting infinity)
