How To Change, Assign And Remove Drive Letters After major stuff (reinstalled XP with the stupid recovery of HP etc. In the process it had to take away my D: that was my data partition, because the recovery partition has to be D by default. That left my Data partition without a drive letter. Every site tells the same story, but when I right click my change letter and path or whatever is greyed out.
