Help: Installing Phpbb Cant I add a second one?

Recommended Posts

I currently have forums at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I would like to have a different forum at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

So, I tried to install it, but it says that the installation had an error.

What's wrong? Isn't it ok for me to have two different forums?

u dont describe what error it is?

1st time u install phpBB was OK, right?

so the next should be OK too, whitin the same way.

if u dont mine, using fantastico is easier, mostly success, but u must spend more capacity for multi language support. it can be deleted then.

ok if the forum is both for yourself i think it would be wiser to just use one forum. First of all having two requires more work to maintain and second it takes up more space on your host. If you can you should just get mods(hacks) that gives extra permission settings and different user signup so you can run two boards on one. So like the members who sign up as a certain member only sees that certain board and vice versa. This is just a sugggestion. As for your problem you should post the error that it shows so we can see whats wrong with it.

Ya...its because you are trying to install two boards on the same mysql database...create a new one and name it something different, it should work then and I hope that does it otherwise u not allowed to have two forums on the hosting...LOL..... But i have no problems....might be just you...re upload it again and see what it does and if it doesnt work, try that thing i told u in the start :angry:

you don't need to create a whole new mysql database by the way. all you need to do is change the name of the tables in the installation page (change the name of the database tables to something different to your old phpbb forum's)
