The reason is because whenever I open programs like Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, I get a little popup thing on the taskbar that says : "Virtual Memory Too Low" Currenlty my memory is 256 MB. Go to Advanced>Performance>Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory>Change.Check the "custom size" box, and enter the new size desired. Reboot to apply changes. It'll be faster if you put the virtual memory on a separate drive than the one where your windows installation is. if not, then put it on a seperate partition, preferably D: (if your windows installation is on C:) theory being that the closer the scratch disk is to the inside, the faster the disk turns and quicker access for read/write ops. your "ideal" virtual memory should be 1.5 times larger than your physical ram. but sometimes it isn't enough, and you can set it to up to 4 GB.
