Klass 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2005 Never been infected with that spyware but a quick Google Search brought this up:https://www.google.com/search?q=desktop.exe:en-US:officialI would suggest you try https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=BwkjVKfAD8uH8QfckIGgCQ&gws_rd=ssl when you don't know what something is. You will see it works wonders and Answers most of your questions.I would download and run these programs listed here:http://forums.xisto.com/topic/84093-topic/?findpost=1064304790Install, Update, Scan. Definatly do the free ones, and Microsoft AntiSpyware. After you run them once, reboot, run them again, Reboot (fingers crossed) the issues should be gone. miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2005 It is supposed to be a variant of the Win32.Dansh.Worm - your system is surely infected with it. Most probable transmission medium of this worm is IRC.Get more information about it at: http://vic.zonelabs.com/tmpl/body/CA/viruss.jsp?VId=40289You need to do something seriously about this.. it's not a good thing to have lying around. WeaponX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 If you feel comfortable editing the registry and all, the link provided by m^e above should give you the solution. If you want a more automatic way of removing it, see if McAfee's Stinger tool can find anything. If not, I suggest doing a scan at https://www.google.com/url?sa=U&start=1&q=hicro.com/&e=747 Set it to autoclean and try to delete all the infected files if they are detected. If any are not cleanable in the site, I suggest taking note of which files are infected and then deleting it manually.
