Klass 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2005 This might help you in your future searches. can be easily kept in memory (your brain, that is ), but if you need a quick reference guide for google search, here it is: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/2466433?visit_id=0-636159685140323495-4105569687&rd=1 print it, bookmark it, or just plain memorize it. --- additional --- for advanced operators, you can use this: http://www.googleguide.com/advanced_operators_reference.html (this however is provided by a third party site, which is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by Google. still useful though even if it's not official. )

the empty calorie 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2005 SafeSearch i always have to disable to find what I want. And no, it's not porn, it's gore.Google is a very wonderful tool, but as with any, you must learn how to use it. if you tried searching for maybe "pud ding" you might come up with something not so appropriate, although, i've never tried. WeaponX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 I agree with the other members here. You really should try to key in on what you want to look for. Just the word pudding is very general. What do you want to know about pudding? Maybe the ingredients? If that's the case, you should search for something like pudding + ingredients and that should narrow down the search results. I know what you mean though. Google is having less relevant results. I read somewhere (maybe on Google site) that they will try to reorganize how they do the searches so that it will provide more relevant search results for the users. mitchellmckain 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 My only disatisfaction with google is that it is not finding my site. It finds my old university site that I no longer have access to (with its outdated info and offerings) but not the new one at Xisto. And I cannot see a reason why.Question: Will getting my own domain name help google to find it?

abhiram 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 I dont use google any more. Google brings up totally irrelevant things and almost always something innapropriate. For a class project, I had to research something about pudding. I typed it in on google and....blech...What? I don't understand. I've always used google for class assignments and projects and 90% of the time they are relevant. What exactly are you trying to search for? Is it how to make pudding? Then type "how to make pudding" in the search bar with the quotes. Google is very good at picking up contextual searches. For example, if you want to know how to solve the rubik's cube, you have to type "how to solve rubik's cube" without the quotes. The first page itself will show all the relevant sites related to your topic. If you need help with googling, just post back and we'll help you out with how to go about it. Neverseen 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 heh you better learn first how to use a search engine and only then complain if it doesn't work good enough. Google is great imho.. don't see anything bad about it. Why do you think it's so popular ?
