Suspension - Do You Lose Emails?

I've recieved some important emails today on my domain account which I haven't been able to access since I'm waiting to be unsuspended (for lack of credits). I was just wondering if while my account was being suspended, the emails were lost and if so how would I go about getting them back?

If I'm not wrong, the emails that get sent to your email addresses while you're suspended will be stored on the mail server. This means that once you're able to access your account, you can still retrieve your emails from your server. I'm not very sure either, but it should work this way.
