Masks In Macromedia Flash Mx Pro Making Cool Effects To A Text Using Mask

Hello,This toturial explains how to make masks in Macromedia Flash MX PRO!1. Open a new document in flash!2. Simple add a text let's say "TEST"!3. Convert it to a symbol using the "F8" key!4. Choose MovieClip, and click OK!5. Double click on the symbol, and the sumbol will be opened so you can edit it!6. Add a new layer, (you can do that by clicking the "+" sign at the left of the TimeLine!7. make sure Layer 1 is above Layer 2, if this is not the case, drag Layer1 Above Layer2!8. Put a picture in Layer 2!9. Right Click On Layer1, Then Chose "Mask"!10. Click Crtl+Enter!11. And Enjoy!

I think you should explain that the result of this would be the word TEST with the picture as its "background", or color. If you make the text a larger font, it would get a better result. Also, by animating the text around the scene, it'd seem to have an animated "background", or color (or texture, as 3d guys could think of it that way.).

 

I also think that you should explain that using masking inside a symbol is not required. If you do put it in a symbol, it doesn't have to be a movie clip either.

 

Sorry DENSS, for so much criticism... :( I'm a picky person...

You can't be picky enough when it comes to making tutorials :(

They say a picture is worth a thousand words... Well, not for Xisto's word count minimum, but I'm sure it would help to add some screenshots so people will see what you're talking about.
