rhodesian.dragon 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 (edited) I am asking this question to see how popular blogs really are... because I am studying blogs in a class right now and I am wondering if what my professor said about blogs growing in popularity is true or not... redsox58 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 I definetly believe blogs are hugely growing in this day & age. There are so many different services that allow you to do it many people are taking advantage of the price aswell. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/Thats a CBS story about how popular they are. overture 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 i believe most people have blogs on their site in one form or another, some people can have ones from wordpress or aj-fork or from where ever but others just upload news by themselves adding to an existing page (not exactly a blog but still).I am currently making my own blog system as i want one to call my own, this is common with all the scripts i do, i don't like using others scripts. Blogs are certainly gaining popularity as people feel the need to talk about their life - however interesting they may be.I say rock on BLOGS! and rock on SHOUTBOXES! (me = shoutbox/blog entheusiast)
lacking_imagination 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 The price? There are plenty of free sites, such as xanga.com, livejournal.com, blogger.com. I personally use xanga.

Since its free the price is right for many people to get started in blogging without having to put down a lot of money

jet 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I have an account at diaryland, but its not exactly a blog and I don't call it a blog. Its a reflection of life and stuff, but.. well, I don't know how to explain it. It contains accounts of my thoughts and things, not stuff I do, ie what I think about issues rather than "I had a test today and it sucked etc".

rjgentry 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 i don't currently have a blog, but it's for sure on my to-do list. i like hte idea of being easily able to keep my far away friends updated with what i'm doing. i have a lot of friends more than five hours away and am not hte best at getting to them individually. the concept of being able to just hop on here and announce what i'm doing is great. then people can check up on me at their leisure. sounds like a great idea to me. :(Ray J Gentry IV

qwijibow 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 whenever im googling, i often stuble accross a blog, with a hit counter of maybe 15, even though its weeks old... one of those 15 is me, 7 of the remaining 13 probably someone who stumbled accross it by accident when googling, 3 of the remaining 6 are the bloggger himself proof reading for spelling mistakes, and the other 3 are his friend Bob.Lots of people are bloging, even when they dont realy do anything that interests anyone.Blogs of developers are interesting to users of the software, Blogs of rock-stars would be interesting,, (however i dont think a blogging rock star could be taken seriously, lol)But when i find a blog from some kid names suzan, who blogs about goint to school, and the some guy blah blah blah blah... i just have to think... get a life, stop fooling yourself into thinking you have a life, my publishing your non-life, then aqssumign the 15 hits you h#get are by genuinly interested people.Am i not right ??? insanity10117 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2005 I personally use Blogger.com. I think its a pretty cool blog site. You have so much areas to customize your personal blog. Its just too cool, imo. If you dont have a site, you can use a blog to express your design abilities. I also used Xanga for a bit, but I didnt like the look and feel of it. It kinda restricted on what you can do.
