MajesticTreeFrog 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Ok, I have decided to get a domain, but I would like to get some advice on which registrar/service to use. Are there any real differences between the services like aplus, godaddy, and network solutions?
DonTravage 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 From what ive heard, godaddy is supposed to be the cheapest one, but unless your interested in a hosting deal that's tied in with a domain name, there isn't much difference in price, services and quality (cheaper ones may have pop-up banners though, watch out for them.) miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 MFrog - whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FROM YAHOO !! Yahoo is a cheat & indulges in the worst form of fraudulent activities. I'd give them a very very negative reco. GoDaddy is cool though and very fast and effective. Watch out for a post with my yahoo sob story... sooon
vujsa 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 I've bought two domain names through Network Solutions. Being the oldest domain registrar, they have a lot of support and send plenty of reminders. If you forget to renew your domain name and you registered it with NetSol, you must be in a coma.As far as price, everyone charges $35.00 a year unless you get a hosting package with them. I remember when domain names were $70.00 for 2 years.I use Network Solutions because they have the fewest question marks after their name.Happy registering, vujsa
SingleDaddyof2 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 I currently use https://directnic.com/ as my domain registrar--only $15.00/yr. I've also heard of some cheaper ones but I have no complaints about my current domain registrar.
warbird 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 If you want a free domain, you can get a .TK domain. I use one by myself: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. It's free and their service is good. No banners, the only thing is you need to get at least 25 visitors at your site every month otherwise you need to register again, but still for free. You can also get a payd domain.Click here to get yours
