Recommended Posts

Cisco's new PIX OS 7.0 is released, it is powerful than v6.3.
it has IM/P2P control, QoS, IPV6, Time-Based ACLs, Layer 2 Transparent Firewall...etc.

PDM V5.0 is also released. but support PIX515E or newer only.
16M Flash and 128MB Ram is needed.

My PIX506E has 8MB Flash only. It cannot be upgraded. :D

Well it look like time to do some upgrading. Is the PIX506E still supported by SISCO? Because if its not you are left with a door stop.I am just getting involved with CISCO routers, switches and firewalls myself because I would like to become CCNA certified soon and find that they support some of the older routers while discontinuing support for some of the later ones. I don’t know if this is done with any of the firewalls though.
