Jolly cool.. I haven't got mine yet - but hopefully they'll be here soon. You probably got it much faster than anyone else bcoz of the fact that you're in UK and this was being shipped out from somewhere nearby... Have fun man :D I'm still hoping my shipment gets delayed and I get the next version instead...

I thought it was a mere joke...so I, being an extra, ordered fourteen discs and got them two minutes ago...Not what I expected but I got more than I asked for. Now what am I supposed to do with them? LoL, I guess I'll try it out once I get a new hard drive for the PC I've assembled from parts I manage to get my hands on. Its' not like I have alot of money and I have to live off my relatives... :DThis is the first time I heard of Ubuntu and there is a new version coming right up? Damn...

Hurrrrrrrrrrrraaah !!! My CDs have arrived too.. Even I was thinking it as a BIG BIG JOKE till today. They just arrived this morning.. All right, I'll admit that like a greedy pig I'd ordered 30 Intel CDs & 10 AMD-64 CDs - but that was just to see if they really do it... and OMG, indeed I received 40 CDs today morning.. I shouldn't be grumbling about it - but there goes my CHANCE for the next version :D lol...

What I wonder though is that it took them 22 Euros to ship that box weighing 1.8 Kilos to Thailand. How are they generating that money to support this program ?

Lol.... so your the reason they had to post that shortage of cd's warning.I hope you have a lot of friends to hand them out to.Like they say on their website, its cheaper to mail them in bulk, and have you hand them out to friends than it is to post each cd individually.

t this was quite a while ago in the UK, which is where iam obviously. tried the cd with the live cd, without any need of installing it into my system. when it finally loaded up it looked pretty ok. looks like any other lunix operating system. it also had games and stuff really on the cd also! the operating wasnt very good to me so i went back to windows xp. i say the ubuntu cd is for the complete beginners to computers and also want to use the lunix operating system. im looking for a little bit more advanced operrating system. something like the mandrake 10 or 9.1 version of the operating system. the interface looks really good and you have loads of control (i think).

I'm very proud of them for doing this but from trying the live CD I realised that it wouldn't support my graphics and for some reason it would only run in a crap graphic quality and 640x800 resolution, which is about half of what I need.

Here are my screenshots, but I'm still dissatisfied because I can't use it at all :D

Well... I also ordered like 20 cds, since on the order page it said "fell free to order as much cds as you want, since shipping charges are more than cd production itself" or something like that.In any case... 20 cds... I won't have to buy birthday presents for a while =P

I got 30 for free a few months ago and it took about two weeks to reach me. I got 10 of PC and Mac, then 5 of other sorts I think. I tried them at school but it didn't work.It looks really good, I'm glad I could try it.

I've applied for 5 X86 CDs a couple of weeks back. I had tried their earlier versions. I find it a good operating system. My CDs haven't arrived yet; hope they'll arrive soon;-)

For those who haven't tried Ubuntu yet, try this link for download/free shipping Ubuntu Download

I think Ubuntu is truely a community OS. I feel it desrves atleast a try. I will be installing Ubuntu as my linux OS along with XP ofcourse. (I don't have a PC yet, soon I'll be getting it :P So far all the experimentations were with rommmates' PCs).
