dissipate 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2005 gmail has been working fine for me except for the last two hours when i was typing an important email and tried to send it. i kept getting a popup box saying, "Oops...the system was unable to perform your operation. Please try again in a few seconds." or kept getting redirected to a 502 Server Error page sayingGoogleErrorServer ErrorThe server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds.arhghghghg! how can this be?! what on earth is wrong with gmail? and excellent timing.. when i have other important emails to send as well before tomorrow morning!!! one of my friends said he's been having problems with gmail the whole day and i was wondering whether anyone else here is having problems. maybe they ran out of space or something... lol. szupie 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2005 Hmm... I'm not having that problem right now, I successfully sent a mail (not with a pop program) and received it. I use thunderbird most of the other times though, I don't know if it helps.PS: Yay, I just checked and got 50 invites now! 46 more than before!
ChronicLoser 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2005 lol, yea i have 50 invites as well. Invites don't mean much anymore =P and my gmail is working just fine through thunderbird and from their webpage. So perhaps it was simply a temporary problem
jipman 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2005 It's beta, it happens
bchs 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2005 Ok lets face is gmail is still in beta like stated above but we find this in all emails like yahoo and hotmail. But there is always fear did is get there... Thats why I only Usse emails that I trust I do have an gmail account and I do use it but for important infomation I use my personal email which is through Xisto.com Plus it looks a lot more profestional and I trust it more than any other. Plus I am worried about security with gmail the ad really freaked me out at first because this must be logged some how. Gmails loggin system is very slow and takes some time on a dial-up connection.   Gmail needs to offer more services if it wants to steal more business from yahoo.com  Like: MessengerWebhostingCommunityNote PadBrief CasePhoto GalleryEct...This will imprave there business and make mine alot easier to handel. Please All Of that has google search os finding it would be a brease.   Thanks
rapco 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2005 Ok, i know almost everybody dislike something about micro$oft, but u have to admit msn messenger it's pretty good... You can use it with your gmail account signing up at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/About the sending issue... i have had that problem too, an it really is temporary, when that happends, log out, and login again...The problem that i really have it's the smtp through Outlook express, i have an overtime error...That's really bugging me off!!!!! even though gmail it's a good service
arunkumarhg 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 I too fcaed the same "oops.." Problem, but i came to know that the problem is with the Internet connection and not with gmail service. If ur internet connection is slow and if u r following the strict firewall setting (if ur firewall configured to not to allow any attachments more tan xxkb or mb) then this problem arrives. dissipate 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 arkumarhg: where did you hear that from? i had never had that problem till that day when i was in the middle of sending out an email. my internet connection was fine as i was surfing other sites throughout the gmail hiccup and i don't use a firewall. plus other friends around the world had the same problem heh. Â yeah i guess it happens... beta... i was just pretty surprised that it happened at all because gmail is like.. the standard of excellence if you know what i mean. google has always been one of the best services around on the internet.
