iGuest 3 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 This is a bit lame to start my first post like this, but here I go..I have searched for a good web hosting service for a long time. Currently I run a game server with 50 players on it and I am really desperate at the moment. I cant find not one service that could stay up at least 70% of the time. I need a website and forum for my community, but at this rate it looks impossible. Most of my free hosts been bugged or down most of the time.Anyone else had experience like this before? Darren1405241470 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 I have also found that alot of free web hosts either have very little bandwidth/space or are down more than 30% of the time which is just unacceptable. I haven't had the time or the imagination to even start my website yet so haven't really tested this servers capabilities yet. daniel151405241469 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 astahost is one of the best free webhosts, it's just great! here there's ~98% uptime which is pretty good for a free webhosts.If you're looking for other webhosts with good uptime (that i've tried), see these:100webspace.com - Great uptime (it's run by an actual company). I had a problem once, and they replied in 2 minutes!!iNeedHosting.net - the webhost i use for my other site. you get 30mb space and 300mb bandwidth (from memory). apart from those small amounts, uptime is great (100% for past 2 or 3 months!!!! I had a problem once, and they replied in 2 minutes!! that's true, the help support service it's GREAT!!!!... but the hosting services.... well, i opened an occount, great.. then... 3 weeks down!!!!!1 (the server was attacked)... so i opnened a new one.. the... 2 weeks down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! that's just terrible for a portal!!!!!!! a went from 500 hits to 25!!!!! (on those two months... )and now, has publicity... on that's not well coded, it messes up my design...they're doing a great job... but i guess they has a lot of enemys (judging from the attacks and the down time)...So, if you want a good hosting server, try this.. i opened a starters package to test it, and i'm pretty happy with it Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

juniorspank 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2005 Perhaps your posts are not meeting a certain requirement. You do need a long enough post for it to count. Here you have to post at least 2-3 lines for it to be considered as a good, meaninful post. Otherwise it is a waste of time trying. It's a good idea so people don't come in and post sensless crap.
