Stephen's Programming Request for Review

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm a new member to this forum and this site is real nice. I have come here to see if you need any help with the site, if so, I can help in any way.

Now back on why I posted this topic. I have posted this topic to request a view of my site, it's in the process of being completed, but, it will be done soon.

View my site by clicking here. I also am doing a service, I am just hosting on a free account so I don't have to focus on paying for the main site, just for sites that were asked to be hosted.

I also have forums that I want to become lively. My forums is focused around programming and gaming. You can post on my forums and I can help you in any way. I am very intrigued by the way you offer hosting as well and will try that on my site to help my community become alot more lively.

I hope this community expands as well as the site!

Hey Mate,

I had a brief look around and wil pass along some reflections.

You should ensure that when people enter your site, they get an immediate and clear indication of what the focus of your site is. I gather that it is around programming but I would recommend you specialise in something specfic.

Before you advertise your site, have the bulk of your content and design completed. You'll find that people will go to the first page then immediate click away if it doesn't seem finished or have interesting/unique content.

If you can customise a little more I think that would draw attention too. The site feels like it 'out of the can' php site, meaning that it is merely the shell or theme that was included in the base php software you are using.

Getting people to come and participate is a very difficult thing to do. Remember, we all want returns for our efforts. The lure of posting doesn't last long but the lure of a free web account does (hehehe).

Seriously, keep up the effort and work on defining your site ... make it indivdiual and unique. The we'll all want to go and have a visit ... maybe even stay around for awhile.

best wishes,

hashbang
