Picking Your Website's Name. Some tips if your stumped.

It took me a long time to think of my name. When I started I was blindly guessing names and asking my friends if they sounded okay. With failure after failure, I set up some guidelines for myself:

 

1. Something easy to remember.

A name that your visitors can easily remember is crucial. If someone can’t remember what your site is called, they cannot visit it a second time.

2. Something short.

Something short kind of ties in with something easy to remember. It also has an attractiveness factor.

3. Something relevant.

I think it should be something relevant to the content of your website, or relevant to yourself.

4. Something different.

It shouldn’t look like something else popular. For example, pastahost is probably not the best choice.

Good tutorial.The one thing I always find hard when making a site is thinking of the name.That and choosing a colour scheme and layout. Maybe you should do tutorials on those - if I don't get there first .I've got a new name for my site now.I'll post back when I've finished it - I don't want anyone nabbing the domain name .

I've got a name for my site-it's gonna change ,though, 'cuz i don't like it.:(I have to change so many things now! affs, listings, main image, any bits that i missed. :panother thing to worry bout..The number one rule for choosing a name...make it so you like it. it's gonna have to last a long time.. make sure it's the one you want.
