With my experience, I think dreamweaver is good for the beginner. And it could be downloaded and u could have about 1 month trial. However, to design a good web page, we still must know html. prolifik 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Good question. You really should know HTML or basic HMTL first. Yeah, for beginners, a WYSIWYG type of HTML editor would be better. Either Frontpage or Dreamweaver would do, but i highly recommend and prefer Dreamweaver. Webpage designing doesn't only rely on the software and the codes. In making designs, it really depends on the persons artistic imagination or skills in designing. Like what bx93 said about learning code from other's sites and tutorials online, you can also get ideas about designs from looking at other's websites. Get ideas, don't copy them. Darren1405241470 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 I first learnt to make a web page simply using very basic html in notepad. I dont suggest doing it this way it wasnt exactly easy. I would start with an easy and popular - (so that you can get advice off others easier) WYSIWYG program like dreamweaver or frontpage.BTW- do dreamweaver/frontpage have tutorials built into them? and if so are they any good? I think the latter is better than the former due to it being able to have plug-ins created. Both give you previews of your pages in your default web browser. HTML-Kit also allows you to do FTP uploads, which is a time-saver (instead of having to change between programs).For a really new beginner, not needing all the "bells and whistles" - I would suggest 1st Page (by EvrSoft).
