marijnnn 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 and you're also wrongsql: the language which most databasesystems use. you can write sql-queries that will look like this: select phonenumber from users where name="andipa"mysql, postgresql, mssql are three different database systems, that all use sql. so you can send the same 'query' to the 3 databasesystems, they will all understand it.mysql is most used because it's free and most free servers use it. it's really fast toopostgres is a little more powerfull, however, mysql is catching up.mssql is microsoft sql server. it's good but expensive. you need licenses and stuff.but to answer the question of this topic: mssql = microsoft sql server, a database system.
