iPod Shuffle speakersIshuffle From Ipod

I recently purchased an iPod Shuffle 4G and a set of iLuv iSP100BLK portable speakers for my nephew and they don't seem to be compatible.  When ordered on Amazon, the speaker product profile said they would work with "any iPod" but wondering if there is a different sent of speakers that need to be purchased specifically for this gen of the Shuffle - I see that there are some issues with proprietary headset jack which may be the concern.  I shipped the products to Arizona so don't have the opportunity to see the issue myself - thought I would see if anyone had a suggestion/answer regarding this issue.  Thanks!
