Ananya 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2012 Basically a pixel is nothing but the electrons striking the back surface of a CRT monitor/LCD screen also known as electron gun.The surface glows when electrons hit that surface.By using a powerful magnet the direction of the electrons is governed & we see pixels forming on the surface of the screen. k_nitin_r 8 Report post Posted October 27, 2013 I pixel is actually a logic unit of measurement rather than a physical measurement unit. The point on the rear surface of the CRT screen or the LCD screen that glows is of a specific color. By having a red, green, and blue dot glow, we get a pixel. Also, on some screens, particularly large ones, multiple dots comprise a pixel. Pixels can be observed easily on some black-and-white LCD displays where the pixels are represented by squares and the fine lines between the squares is visible.
