The prospects that interested me in joining this tight knit, yet not so small community, aside from the far-spanning services this place offers, is the general idea of a discussion based community. I'm really bad at introductions, plus I don't really have a guideline to this and thus, have no idea what to post in this thread. So I'll just tell you a little bit about me.I am a web developer by trade (not professionally, more of a hobby). I have rather extensive knowledge of HTML, PHP, Java and things like that. My main hobby revolves around making and managing online communities (though none too successful, yet). Anyway, hope to quickly get integrated in this community. Pleasure meeting yall. mrdee 1 Report post Posted March 2, 2012 Hi Heximal.Welcome to Xisto.Apart from earning MyCents to pay for web hosting and other things, you can find lots of interesting topics here, just about anthing.A good way of seeking and findinghelp should you have any problems, bu with the skills and knowledge you listed, it looks like you would be the one helping people here.This reinds me I posted a help request in Computers->Programing Languags->PHP programming, it is called "More advice needed from PHP experts".I am learning PHP at the moment, and I have not got beyond the novice level yet, and, as you can probably imagine, self-study is very difficult, so any help is very welcome.So, I wish you lots of fun and new friends on Xisto. Despite my best efforts to get everybody to talk about dogs, computers stuff still rules around here! That of course, does not stop me from dogging everybody! :)Ok, if not dogs, how about gardening? I see you have made 12 posts already and you are earning MyCENTs - that puts you way ahead of a lot of other people who post their introductions in the introductions sub forum.I develop web sites with ASP.NET and PHP, and have a basic understanding of how Java web applications work (I can write JSP code on Tomcat, but haven't ventured into the use of Spring or the use of other application servers).There are a lot of interesting folk here on Xisto but three of the most popular contributors to the forum have already replied to your introduction thread so that's pretty much half of the who's-who of the forum for the most part.
