I saw the whole event live and I thought Chris Rock was funny (A bit rude though). It was an amazing event and although I hate Beyonce, I think she performed pretty well at the Oscars. And about the results, well I wasn't sure about the "Best Actress in a Leading role", but all the other awards were pretty expected and I'm glad Hillary Swank won the award! :D

I saw the hole event too... it's emotive... I'm very very very happy that Motorcycle Diaries won an Oscar... I'm glad because it's an honor that an argentinian movie wins a prize like that. I love my country!!! :D:D I thought the aviator was going to win the best movie... but it didn't. I'm also happy that the actor of Ray won the best actor in a leading role... he did a GREAT job in that movie... well.. I've got nothing else to say! :D Byebyeee!!!

congratulations to all the winners. :D time to watch the nominated movies i missed. i had reservations about chris rock hosting the event... and though he was somehow funny (and a little bit rude) the entire award ceremony, i believe he didn't match up that well with the previous hosts of oscar. he needs more finesse in hosting a multitude of audience, especially in a formal setting like the oscar. (hats off to sean penn, for getting in defense of jude law, which chris rock rudely critiqued as some kind of a second-rate actor, appearing in almost any movie these past 4 years). billy crystal still does it best. :D hope billy crystal can be back next year instead (i missed his opening spiels, done in flagrant visuals, and is usually a treat fit to open the ceremony). or whoopi goldberg. or robin williams. :D

A lot of great selections by the academy. I was so happy for Jamie Foxx. He deserved the title more than anyone in the world, and his acceptance speech tugged at your heart. Simply phenomenal stuff.I haven't seen "Million Dollar Baby" yet, but I think it's about time that I ought to. Clint Eastwood is a legend, and I trust that any film under his supervision is bound to be great. Kudos to him and Hilary Swank!By far, the best acceptance speech was from Jorge Drexler. That was so slick! HahaAs for Chris Rock...yeah, he can be rude at times, but I think he did a decent job hosting. He avoided completely overdoing his "black act" for the most part (of course, there were obvious exceptions) and threw in some hilarious tidbits here and there to keep a nice flow goin'. Oh yeah, I was glad Sean Penn stuck up for Jude Law. Jude Law just kicks so much *bottom*. They should get him to host next year :D The tribute to Johnny Carson was a tearjerker. Very fitting, and most appropriate for a legend of such universal proportions. A job well done, indeed!I loved the introduction segment, which contained the clips of various movies in the past (it seemed liked the healthy majority were previous Best Picture winners, can someone confirm this?). Great way to kick off the show.Overall, the show was excellent. "The Aviator" was prevented from becoming a complete runaway and I believe that every film worthy of it got the recognition it deserved. Bravo!

I usually watch the Oscars every year, this is the first I can recall that I didn't. I did see Kate Blanchet do one award, from the seats. I don't know if I like that format. Oh and I think I saw them bring up all of the nominees onto the stage. Yikes that's got to make you feel like even MORE of a loser if you don't win! I saw Bionce sing a song in french. I don't think I liked it very much, made up lots of notes like she usually does :D I couldn't stop staring at her green eyeshadow! I would have liked to have seen that Neverland got something, but then again I haven't seen any of the other movies that DID win something so, congrats to all the winners. I think I must not have had much interest this year because Lord of the Rings wasn't up for anything. :D
