Okay, here in ireland, we have a system as followsYou start school, at around 4 or 5.Junior InfantsSenior InfantsFirst ClassSecond ClassThird ClassFourth classFifth Classsixth ClassThen you leave primary school, and enter Secondary school..First yearSecond yearThird year (first public exam , the Junior Certificate)Transition year (an optional year, in my school, others have it as compulsary, you basicly take a year out to do various courses and crap. It's fun..Fourth year Fifth year ( biggest exam you'll ever do, the leaving certificate, it decides what colleges you can enter and your future career.. and it all takes place within 2 weeks of back to back exams)Then you can enter college, the years for college vary depending on what you want to study.

In the united states it goes like this:kindergarten (age 4 or 5... some places are starting at 6 now) Then primary, or elementary school is 1st- 6th gradeNext you have Junior High- that's grades 7-8 High school is 9th-12th grade often referred to with the same names given to years in college- freshman(9), sophomore(10), junior(11) and senior(12).

College time here depends on what career you're going for too. Like if you're want to be a doctor or lawyer you will probably spend like 8 years in college.

In India it's like in Canada. We have KG (kindergarden) age 4 to 5 (Junior/Lower KG, Senior/Upper KG)Then comes primary school 4yrs (We use "standards" here so it is first standard to 4th standard)Then is middle school (5th standard to 7th standard) Then High School (8th std to 10th std) Then we go to PUC (Pre university college)After that we have college. (All the Bachelor and Masters degrees) :D
