There are several ways that people use to earn money online. Maybe a description of some of the means people use can give somebody an idea to start to earn money online too. A description of ways to earn money online might lead to the conclusion, that lots of luck and other not influencable topics are involved.

 

Some ways to earn money online:

 

1. Invent a website with a service other people like.

An example is google. It is hard to find a website with the content somebody wants to see. So a search engine makes surfing more easy for people.

The story is that the search engine was build by students on the university. They got and needed lots of money to get the search engine online, working and being usefull for lots of people. For a long time Google only costed money. It took the people of Google very long to find a way to earn money with the website.

 

Another website that offers a service to people is Youtube. This website cost a lot of money. The people who invented the website and the service of offering free download space for and free views of videos became rich when the website was sold.

 

This leads to several conclusions. The first thing to do is to invent a website with a service people like. The second thing to do is to receive a lot of visitors. When a lot of people visit the website there are several ways to earn money. One of the ways is to put advertisements on the website. Another way is to get a sponsor. Like a big company that likes to get their name mentioned and their products reviewed. A third way is to sell the website.

 

2. Start a webshop. An internet webshop doesn't need much investments. An internet webshop needs probably less investments compared to a shop of bricks and wood and glass and other materials. The rent of a shop is in most cases considerable higher than the costs to rent a website. And there are internet shop programs available for free. And some domain names are for free. And some free web hosts offer webspace and websites for free too.

3. Start a website about a topic other people like to read about. An option is a blog. There are occasions and people who gain fame and money by their website and blog. An example is mister Perez Hilton. Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. writes gossip about celebrities on his website. And he became famous with this website.

4. Start making videos on Youtube. This only requires a webcam. Since you are reading this it can be assumed you have the option to use a computer. When the videos attract a lot of views and the youtube channel gets a lot of so called subscribers it might be possible that Youtube starts to pay the maker of the videos some money. An amount of about 1.000 subscribers and probably over 5.000 views for each videos is needed to earn some money.

5. Start a website that becomes famous and add advertisements on it. Google pays when the visitors of the website click on the advertisements.

Opinion:

 

Most of these examples have something in common. For most people who earn money with a website and with their contribution to the internet the fact that they earn money happens to them. The purpose is never and never seems to be to earn money. The people who start a website, offer a service, make videos on Youtube, get loads of visitors and become rich and earn enough money to earn a living didn't have the purpose to earn money. They all share that they like what they do. When it happens that they become rich and when people earn enough money to earn a living out of their online activities this is probably a surprise to them. It is for most of them a surprise that a lot of people like what they do on the internet.

 

The same can be said about companies. Some big companies have started websites and online services that didn't become a succes.

 

Conclusion

 

This leads to a conclusion. It seems that people who become popular don't have the purpose to become popular. They start a website and run a website and write a blog because they like to do this. They like the subject of the website. And they like the topics of the blog they create and write about. And when their website and blog gets a lot of visitors they don't understand why people are so interested in their contributions and opinions and output. This means it works only when a subject is chosen and an activity is chosen that somebody likes. The pure purpose to get money and to become rich rarely leads to the wanted results.

Second conclusion

 

The first conclusion opens the way to another conclusion. This second conclusion is as follows. The thing to aim at is to do something that is liked by the somebody self. A topic and an activity that the person self thinks is interesting can be chosen. When the website owner and the blogger likes what the website owner and the blogger are doing it is possible other people will start to like it too. This leads to the recommendation to find something that is liked and to start a website and a blog about this topic. The joy of having and running a website about this topic is the first reward. The arrival of lots of visitors and maybe the earning of some money can be seen like bonusses. And these things are rarely influencable.
