Bikerman 2 Report post Posted October 10, 2010 Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. You have any training experience with training great den dog ? I find them kinda scary because of their huge size and noise. We do have some people here in society keeping those dogs. But i prefer not to get one any time in future.Yes - we had a Great Dane when I was a kid - Major, he was my Dad's dog. I remember I used to ride him like a pony (it is one of my earliest memories). I don't remember too many details but I do remember he was well trained. As with all dogs - particularly big and powerful ones - socialisation is vital. They need to be in regular contact with lots of people and other dogs from a very early age. They then get used to the little social rules, as well as getting accustomed to crowds. We have 2 at the club and both are well balanced and well behaved. Their training was just like you would for any dog.
Sally 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Hello Have a good dayThe trips you mentioned are great. I trained my dog from petcareprod.com and he is very clever now and understand my all commands. In fact he used to act as a helper for my Grandma who can hardly move. Thanks
Iniyila 2 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 I really tried so hard to teach my dog how to sit but there is no response at all. he is not even tending to do that. I've tried a pro dog trainer and he said your dog is untrainable! my dog learns anything too fast but i don't know why he is not interested in sitting. he learned jumping very easily and now he can jump and grab his mini chunks from the table. Keeping a dog and training him is very expensive job and i'm tired of trying. So i accepted that he can't jump and i'm not trying any more duo to expense of hiring a dog trainer .
