Emac Vs Imac which do you prefer?

I recently used both and dear lord the iMac is the future of PC's. It totally had the capabilities of a regular PC and yet the sleakness and smoothness of Mac OS X. It was awesome. While the eMac sure did have some good features, the iMac was just the better of the two. What do you think?

Imac definitley. The Emac is too... uh.... It like reminds me of like, *Oh that computer* or *The Library computer* or *The Schools Computers* etc. Its not like, instlyeish kinda. Mainly, when its buying a mac, its just about looks, Because, andthing that you buy in macs, will be compatible with things for years. All of macs software is still compatible with G3. Also, the EMACs not thery portable.WEll, they make a handle and all, but its still very heavy, unlike the Imac, which is slim and light. Hence, I like the Imac, J on the MB

Hi !Emac is only for student working ! With a Imac, you'll can make some movie or photo retouch but not with a Emac (It will be so long) ! Emac was built to young users for a first computer !Bye !

I like the iMac better since the eMacs Ive seen have these really small screen size and still take a lot of desk space. You cant go wrong with a flat screen computer

My son wants to record using "Garageband". I hear the iMac screen is far more frail. He will need to transport the computer. Is the eMac's screen more durable?

Hello, being a mac technician I can say there are only cosmetic's that differentiate the two machines, the emac certainly wasn't aimed just for the younger generation! The emac on earlier production was higher spec'd then the equivalent imac, with the emac boasting a 17'' screen against the imacs mere 15'' screen! And having a significantly larger HD, all in all I'd have to say the emac is more of a specialised machine, as they were aimed for the graphical/creative industry, obviously with the emac's production being stopped it can no longer compete with the slimmer, dual processored imacs! But your after a cheaper high entry level mac to run Adobe cs2 Photoshop/indesign/illustrator etc, then look no further, as these can be brought off ebay for a very good price! And your lucky and stumble across an ex-office machine it should have all the above programme's pre-installed!-reply by Nicholas

All things considered fairly, the two models differ immensely with the emac fulfilling the role of cheap clone, initially intended for mass use in universities and laboratories while the imac was always meant to empower the individual with a fast, light, and more luxurious computer that also looks good in a bedroom or home office.  The emac wasn't even available to the public upon early release as it was reserved for large organization orders, which was reflected in its significantly lower price.  Oddly, to the contrary, I prefer the look and feel of the emac even in every day home use.  Toodles...
