Dak1ng 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 For quite a while now I haven't been using my Symantec Antivirus program because I've been using AVG Antivirus 8.5. However, my Symantec Antivirus is still installed on the computer. i know that you cant have two antivirus programs installed on one computer blah, blah, blah, but I couldn't uninstall it! So i just installed avg beside it. Since the Symantec Antivirus doesn't work right, windows says my computer is unprotected, even though avg is installed. I've tried to uninstall Symantec, but an error keeps popping up that says a .dll file can't be uninstalled, fatal error, aborting uninstall... I've tried cutting it off at the knees, but it refuses to be removed! Can anyone help me? I don' want to stick around with symantec anymore!
bluedragon 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2009 I had a similar problem with Norton and found a removal tool (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). You can may be ask for support guys to help you out. There are many unofficial uninstallers available in the market may be you can try using one of those. the Last option, would be to manually remove all the files and remove all the registry entries.I won't suggest that but if all else fails , that option works
