sheepdog 10 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 It seems the ACLU is at it again. First it was trying to protect men who molest little boys, now they are attacking war veterans who have fought and died for the freedoms we try to enjoy in this country. A 7 foot tall cross out in the desert, in the middle of nowhere that has stood for 75 years has been covered up until the case can be heard in court. All because some jackass who lives hundreds of mile away MIGHT drive past it, out here in the middle of the freaking desert and be offended by it. Seriously, are non Christian people that intolerant? Just what is so objectionable about a simple cross? What makes it worthy of the effort of the ACLU? Yes, it is on public land, but there are many thousands of crosses on cemeteries all across the country that are public, are we going to start to see the removal of the cross everywhere? Why is it that lately more and more attacks are aimed directly at Christians? This great country was founded so our forefathers could enjoy freedom of religion. Not freedom FROM religion. And where is it in our constitutional bill of rights that we have the rights to never be offended? And what's next? All the crosses in Arlington cemetary??? Here is the link to the video about this story.Veterans Fight to Keep 75-yr. old Mojave Desert Memorial cross (6 min.)http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/I just heard on the news that this case is now made it to the Supreme Court, it's being debated today, no actual for sure outcome, but they talk like they are going to take the cross down, then deed one acre of ground out of that park to the local vetrans adnimistration then let them put it back up. phpphp 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2009 its amazing that it is standing there from 75 years in the desert. But there must be some reason that ACLU dont want it standing. Apart religon, if this cross is reminding the war that caused millions of people death for no reason and for peace process, then its okay to remove this sign. because WW1 and WW ll both caused Millions of innocent people death. I dont think WW l war fought for any freedom except some crazy reasons.
shadowx 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2009 Christians seems to forget the bloody sand on which their religion is built. Destroying countless homelands, villages, cities, towns and other belief systems, killing thousands, punishing millions more for doing no wrong. So, when you say that christians are being attacked and attacks are being aimed at them i feel no sorrow or pity, only justice. It seems a bit extreme to take the case to court but then America has a fascination with courtrooms. But at the end of the day its a structure that has been built so technically the authorities do have a duty to make sure that religious organisations cant exploit and avoid the regulations. some people might consider it an eye sore in an area otherwise naturally beautiful etc...
