How can i connect a laptop to internet with an OS of Ubuntu using wired connection to router?Internet Connection Script/applicatio/config

can you help me solved my problem?

I have a new laptop that use Ubuntu operating system, I connect it to the internet using a utp cable direct connected on the router. But I can't connect to the internet although it shows that it have a connection to the router cause I see that it have its ip address in the network info. But the other computer connected to the router have there internet

can u give me suggestions/tips for me to solved my problem.

Real simple... same way as every other OS... lol J.kObviously you have top have the Modem set up to receive the signal, then just run a Ethernet cable to the router and plug it in to the WAN slot and run another ethernet cable from the LAN slot (one of them for me) to the ethernet slot one you computer/laptop. once that is done and the signal has taken (may have to reset the whole shebang) click on the unlink plugs icon in the top rioght hand corner, you should get it connected automatically, but if not, manually select connect from the dropdown that appears.
