Black And White Photography With Old/origional Slr's

I have been using an old SLR to take pictures and develop them. It's really "old school", but I think that it is quite cool looking. It certainly gives you a different perspective of the world. I recommend others try doing it sometime if you have one.If you decide to try it, definately be sure to take some photo's of very dark shadows because they look very cool. I also recommend shooting landscapes, but be sure to have high contrast (lots of bright white and dark black).Be warned that if you do not have access to a dark room to do it yourself it is extremely expensive to get these pictures developed at your local cammera shop, but they will do it for you.

This reminds me the price of getting high ISO black and white film during my college days. Used before an Olympus OM-10, OM-4TI, Nikon FM2 and Nikon FM10. I can really agree with you that black and white is effective in scenery shots. That is for one solid reason that i really hope they remake the TLR (Twin lens reflex) cameras.I am for sure that someone in here will slap in about photoshop can do the same effect reply.

Couldn't agree with you more, S.I.A., there's also something really great about firing off a roll of film, having no idea if you got your shot, developing, printing, and revealing something far more stunning than you'd even thought when you were looking through the view finder. Have you posted any of your work online?

I prefer the old school style of taking pictures. The only cameras we can use in my Photography 2 class in school, are a Pentax. We develop the film in school, and there is a really nice darkroom to make prints. Black and white pictures definitely come out much better looking to me, then color photos. They just offer more of an "art" feeling, and the contrasts of gray/black makes them have more meaning.

black and white photos yes its an old school yet they are still great looking I don't have any photography classand Im learning on my own and trying to make/catch great photos btw im still a beginner in photoraphy
