Antivirus most efficient antivirus software ?

So my AOL keeps telling me that I need to download a new anti virus. It keeps giving me McAfee, but I have heard that they aren't so good. Which anti-virus progs do you people use that you feel is the best?

Norton Antivirus is a nice one if you're willing to pay.Although, can't remember if Zonealarm was an Antivirus application, or a firewall.

Anyway, I did a quick search and Zonealarm comes with an antivirus software. It's also freeware (To the best of my knowledge.)

I had McAffee(sp?) and I did not like it as much as Norton.

And by the way, what is AVG? I've heard it's name several times.

I still think that the e trust anti virus is one of the best also norton i use 2 diffrent ones on my pc and on my laptop.

NAV is good but the fact is that i was made for a ...users that were not into pcs so much
i lets thru lots (mostly troyans)

Kaspersky(KAV) is the best but not for a NOOB.

and to be honest if one wants to be 99% virus safe i would suggest intalling both (lost cpu power needed)

use rav anti vires. this is good for killing vires. it is to easy update.
