there is no default content for you htaccess file unless you had any prefereces such as error pages set on your website. If you leave it blank you shouldn't have any errors.

On close inspection, I think I found the problem...

I found this...



in the code, That is most likely the problem... Did you upload your files via the cPanel File manager or FTP? Because if through FTP, make sure you didn't upload the files with a binary upload...

Here is what you should do...Empty out the .htaccess file completely...Delete your website files and upload them again using cPanel Filemanager's uploader... Everything should be back to normal again...
